Lauki/sorekai/Bottle gourd kofta


Ingredients to make lauki balls
1. Medium sized bottlegourd 
2. Half onion
3. Chilli powder - 1 teaspoon 
4. Salt - half teaspoon 
5. Gram flour - 4 tablespoon 
6. Oil 

For gravy:
1. 1 1/2 onion
2. 1 tomato 
3. Chilli powder 
4. Coriander powder
5. Garam masala
6. Turmeric 
7. Salt
8. Kasuri methi
9. Ginger garlic paste
10. Coriander 

1. Peel off the bottlegourd skin and grate it. 
2. Strain the water completely from the bottlegourd. 

3. Add flour, chilli powder and salt. Mix it and do not add water.
4. Make small balls and deep fry them in oil and keep it aside
5. Add oil to pan and add half onion finely chopped and ginger garlic paste. 
6. Once the raw smell is gone, add tomato and onion puree along with chilli, turmeric and coriander powder. 

7. Add little water and allow it to boil for few min. 
8. Add garam masala and kasuri methi and boil for few min. 
Once the gravy is done, take fried lauki balls in serving bowl and pour the gravy over the lauki. Garnish with coriander and ready to serve with rice or roti👍

Tips:
Deep fry in medium flame to cook the flour completely. 
Grinding onion and tomato gives you more gravy. 
Coconut milk and cashew can be added to the gravy. 
Another way to serve is to add deep fried lauki to gravy and cook for a min.
